Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VariLogic collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use our website, products and related services, including the VariPOS application.

1. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • The VariLogic website and website contact forms
  • VariPOS mobile and desktop application features
  • Optional cloud-connected features such as Google sign-in and backup or restore

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the feature you use, we may process the following categories of information:

  • Contact details submitted through website forms, such as name, email, company and requirement message
  • Business data entered into VariPOS, such as invoices, purchases, expenses, products, stock, GST data, ledgers, payment records, capital records, customer details and supplier details
  • Media and document files stored by the app, such as product images, purchase invoice images, customer or supplier profile images, logo and signature files, and related attachments
  • Google account information required for optional sign-in based backup features, such as account email and authentication tokens provided by Google
  • Usage and diagnostics data collected through Firebase Analytics or similar infrastructure used for app performance and usage measurement
  • Basic technical logs required for website security, reliability and fraud prevention

3. Offline Data Handling in VariPOS

VariPOS is designed primarily as an offline-first application. Most core business records are stored locally on the device using the app database so that billing, inventory and reporting can continue without continuous internet access.

Local business data remains on the device unless the user explicitly uses features such as backup, restore, Google Drive synchronization, data export, sharing, printing or other connectivity-based functions.

4. How We Use Information

  • Respond to inquiries, demo requests and support requests
  • Provide billing, inventory, reporting, GST, backup and other VariPOS functionality
  • Enable optional Google Drive backup and restore requested by the user
  • Maintain security, integrity, auditability and disaster recovery features
  • Measure app and website usage, improve performance and fix reliability issues
  • Comply with legal, accounting, tax or regulatory requirements where applicable

5. Optional Sign-In and Cloud Backup

VariPOS may offer optional Google sign-in for cloud backup and restore. If you use this feature, the app may access Google Drive scopes necessary to create, update, download and manage backup files associated with your VariPOS data.

Backup files may include:

  • Application database backup data
  • Business media files included in the selected backup type
  • Backup metadata and manifest files required for restore

Google sign-in is optional. Core local app usage is not dependent on Google sign-in, but online backup or restore features may require it.

6. Analytics and Diagnostics

VariPOS may use Firebase Analytics or similar services to understand app usage, navigation patterns, feature adoption and overall performance. These services may process technical or device-related identifiers in accordance with their own platform policies.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share data only as needed with service providers that support the operation of the website and app, such as:

  • Hosting, security and website infrastructure providers
  • Google services used for authentication, backup storage or related app functionality
  • Analytics or crash and performance monitoring providers, if enabled

We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, court order or lawful government request.

8. Data Retention

Website inquiry data is retained only as long as reasonably required for business communication, support, recordkeeping or legal compliance. VariPOS local records and optional backup data are generally retained based on user action, device storage state, backup rotation settings and legal or accounting needs of the business using the software.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. This includes controls intended to safeguard local app data, backup processes, authentication flows and website communications. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

Where data is transmitted to supported online services such as Google or Firebase, it is expected to be protected in transit using the security controls provided by those platforms.

10. User Controls and Requests

Depending on the service and applicable law, users may request access, correction or deletion of relevant information.

11. Third-Party Services

The app and website may interact with third-party services including Google Sign-In, Google Drive, Firebase and related platform infrastructure. Those services may also have their own terms and privacy policies, and your use of those integrations may be subject to them.

12. Children's Privacy

VariLogic and VariPOS are intended for business and operational use. They are not directed to children.

This policy may be updated periodically. Revised versions will be posted on this page with the updated effective date.
